As of today I am starting to change my life around. I used to play sports, soccer and volleyball were my life until I injured my knee and couldn’t play anymore, then I stopped working out because my knee always hurt and I used it as an excuse, which has lead to some weight gain over the past few years.
Today is a new start. I am going to work out at least three times a week if not more. I am going to eat healthy and count calories. My goal is to have all the weight off almost by graduation, but for sure by my brothers wedding next October.
I found this cute idea on pinterest, for a craft and a way to see how much weight you are losing over time. You take two jars or cups or whatever you want. You can decorate them or leave them plain. I chose to decorate mine and put the sayings, “Don’t forget to be awesome” and “you are stronger than you think” on them. I will post pictures of them together and then each of them on there own.
How they work is one jar (my “don’t forget to be awesome” one) holds pebbles or something that can represent the weight you want to lose, so I have 1 fish bowel pebble for every pound I want to lose so 124. The other jar starts out empty and at the start of each week or the end of each week you weigh yourself and if you have lost lets say, 2 pounds then you take 2 pebbles or whatever you are using out of your total weight jar and put it in the other jar which is for weight lost, that way you can see your progress in a fun way.
I am also using My Fitness Pal to count calories and keep track of my exercise and what not and it is really cool application that you can download on your phone or use it on the computer and you can link it to your Facebook or add friends on it. So if you have a group of friends who are all trying to get healthy together you can be friends and be even more supportive of each other.
